Our Story

Rooted in Faith since 1886

For well over a century the Diocese of Mysore has proclaimed the Gospel, celebrated the sacraments and served the poor across southern Karnataka — a family of parishes, religious communities and institutions walking together in faith.

  1. 1886

    Diocese of Mysore erected

    On 1 September 1886 Pope Leo XIII established the Catholic hierarchy in India, and Mysore became a diocese.
